The working demonstration areas are a standout feature of Hillhead, setting it apart from other exhibitions. The four demo areas provide a unique opportunity to witness plant and equipment in action, performing real tasks all within a live quarry setting!
This year’s show is no exception, with a range of new equipment being put through it’s paces, allowing exhibitors and visitors alike an invaluable experience to see the machinery's capabilities.
Quarry Face Demo Area
Carefully prepared following the blast that took place in April, the Quarry Face Demo Area will host over 35 machines and utilises three benches along an extended length of quarry face.
You’ll see large excavators (up to 100 tonnes) and face shovels; hydraulic breakers; large wheel loaders; rigid and articulated dumptrucks; crushing and screening buckets; cold planers; jaw crushers, mist cannons and much more…
2024 Demonstrations by:
Bell Equipment will be showcasing their latest engineering feats including the B40E autonomous Articulated Dump Truck (ADT), 4x4 ADTs and Bell Tracked Carrier.
Hyundai will demonstrate three of their popular quarry models including a large crawler excavator, a large wheel loader, and an articulated dumptruck. In addition they’ll also be unveiling their biggest wheel loader with the launch of the HL985A!
JCB are debuting their biggest and most powerful X Series tracked excavator yet – the 370X – a heavy-duty earthmover that brings its industry-leading levels of productivity, durability, and reliability to the 35–40-tonne sector.
SMT will be championing sustainability with the UK public debut of the 23-tonne Volvo EC230 Electric excavator, which will be working in the demo area alongside a fully electric truck from Volvo Trucks.
SANY crawler excavators will also be working in the demo area, and visitors will see the SANY 50-tonne SY500H and 40-tonne SY390H in action throughout the three-day show.
Develon’s DX420LC-7 43.5-tonne crawler excavator, the DL550-7 wheel loader, and the DA30-7 ADT will all be put through their paces.
Hitachi and Liebherr both have a large presence at the Quarry Face this year and will also be showcasing a range of new kit.
Registration Demo Area
As you enter the show from the Registration Pavilion, you’ll find a range of rock processing and recycling equipment being put to work in the Registration Demo Area.
